Description
Smith & Corona Silent
In 1950, Smith & Corona launched the 5-series of typewriters, which included three core models, the Clipper, Sterling, and Silent. They came in a number of colors and featured a textured or “crinkle” finish.
The result was a utilitarian machine that performed beautifully and has lasted for decades. The model shown here was made in the U.S.A. in 1952.
Among the many writers who loved the Smith & Corona 5-series was Theodore Seuss Geisel (Dr. Seuss).
